My All Time Favourite Homemade Hummus

I am a big fan of protein smoothies! Anything quick and easy yet packed with nutrients is a big bonus for me.

I love food, I love eating, but I don’t enjoy spending a lot of time in the kitchen during the week.

I tend to mainly drink green smoothies as they are such an easy way to make up my 5 serves of vegetables for the day. But sometimes I just want something completely delicious - and a thick, creamy, choc-nut combo is exactly that for me!

This Nutty Chocolate Smoothie is packed with protein, antioxidants, fibre and omega-3 fatty acids making it perfect for breakfast, as a hearty snack or post-workout to help with muscle recovery.

Ingredients

  • 1 serve of vanilla protein powder (I use Nuzest Clean Lean Protein)
  • 125ml filtered water
  • 125ml unsweetened coconut/almond milk (I use Pure Harvest)
  • Half a large banana
  • 1 dessert spoon of almond butter
  • 1 heaped dessert spoon of raw cacao powder
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 5 ice cubes
  • 1 tbsp collagen peptides
  • Instructions

Place all ingredients into your blender and blitz on high until silky smooth.

    Serve immediately

Top tip: Make sure you can't see or crunch any whole chia seeds. When dry, chia seeds are incredibly hard to digest so you will only get the benefits from them if you really blitz them in your blender or soak them for a minimum of 2 hours.
